Kerner is the pride and joy of Astley Vineyard. Related to Riesling, these uncommon vines were planted in 1971. It is very rarely, if ever, found in the UK.
Kerner consistantly shows improvement with age. With four years in the bottle, this is a developed, complex wine.
2016 Vintage - Fresh & pretty aromas of lime, jasmine, apple and a faint whiff of petrol. Refreshing, but round on the palate. A delicious aperitif or accompaniment to white meats, Alpine dishes & Asian cuisine.
For those who enjoy:
- Something different

"Bright and fresh; gummy fruit sweetness on the nose, orangey, nectarine and clementine. Pithyness on the palate, and bitter lemon refreshing. Good finish driven by a honeyed quality."
